Make-A-Friend This Advent Season

The Pro-Life Committee is sponsoring a “Make-A-Friend” Tree, that will hold the names of many of our friends and parishioners, who are homebound or live in assisted living or nursing homes. Many of these individuals would love to have some company. Beginning next weekend, December 9th/10th, you are invited to check the tags on our “Make-A-Friend” tree to find someone with common interests. Whether you love reading, solving crossword puzzles, playing cards or board games, or just love to chat, the idea is to increase our own personal ministries to the homebound by giving them the gift of a weekly visit that they know they can look forward to! You can contact Theresa Shane at or Michael Barrett in the office for more information.

All parishioners who sign up to visit the homebound and those in assisted living or nursing homes (vulnerable adults), are REQUIRED to attend our VIRTUS – Protecting God’s Children (PGC) safe environment training and are subject to a background check. VIRTUS sessions are available here at St. Peter’s on December 17th from 2:00pm – 5:00pm and January 9th from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Volunteers must attend one of these sessions or another session offered by the Archdiocese prior to serving in this ministry. You can register for VIRTUS online at
