Lent Begins February 10th

“ 40 Days of Opportunity”

We all know Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent. But, it is also a special time when Jesus asks us to revisit the state of our own hearts and open them to him, recognize we are sinners in need of his salvation, receive his merciful forgiveness and love, and to be renewed by him.

Come to Lent ready to enjoy a renewed personal encounter with Jesus. Lent is a privileged period of 40 days when we are invited to tend to and restore our own fragmented hearts to right relationship with God. What an opportunity we all have! So as we fast, give from our treasure, and serve him this Lent, remember our hard work will pay off when we arrive fully renewed at a joyful Easter morning!

During Lent, as a parish we will be reading Matthew Kelly’s book “Rediscover Jesus. Please pick up a complimentary copy in the vestibule for your family.

“Rediscover Jesus” is a profound invitation to seek answers to some of our own questions, provide us with spiritual wisdom, and help us to know both Jesus and ourselves in a new way.

“Let us draw nearer to God this Lent.”( 2 Cor 6:2)
