SVDP Canned Food Drive

St. Vincent de Paul will be having a food drive on November 4th and 11th. Please place your donations in the boxes in the Narthex.

NOTE: No food in glass containers, alcohol, tobacco or perishable items.
NEEDS are: Oatmeal Boxes, Instant Grits, Pasta Sauce,
Pasta, Canned Soup, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Canned Tuna,
Canned Chicken, Canned Vegetables, Ramen Noodles,
Crackers, Macaroni and Cheese, Rice, Dried Beans,
Canned Fruit, Canned Beans, Cans of Ravioli or similar
meat, Toilet Paper, Bath Soap.

“International Night”

Brought back by popular demand an International Night Dinner Party is being sponsored by our Knight of Columbus on Saturday, November 10th at 7:00 PM in the Parish Hall. Be prepared to feast on culinary delights from around the world without leaving LaGrange: American, Asian, Cajun, German, Hispanic, Indian, Italian, and Lebanese.
A limited number of tickets will be sold after all Masses on October 27-28 and November 3-4. Adult tickets are $8.00. Family tickets are $20.00.

Mass Schedule

The Mass Schedule for All Saints will be 9 am and 6 pm at St. Peter’s, noon at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Mission Church. All Soul’s Day we will have Mass at 9 am at St. Elizabeth and 12 pm noon at St. Peter’s. You may find envelopes in the Vestibule to fill out if you want to have your  deceased loved one’s commemorated in the Novena.

Ultreya meeting at St. Peter’s

St Peter’s Cursillo Ultreya will meet right after the 6:00 p.m. Mass on Saturday, November 3 with a “pot luck” meal in the parish hall. Rickey Basko and Marie Rosenthal will be our speakers for the evening. They will share their experiences from the Fall Cursillo weekend. Parishioners interested in knowing more about Cursillo are invited to attend this get together. Come share a meal, find out more about Cursillo, and hear faith-filled talks. Following are the dates for the Spring 2019 Weekends at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, Georgia.

First Friday lunch will be held on Nov. 2nd following the noon Mass. Hosts will be Helen Bishop and Barbara Bergeson. Fr. Tim will be our speaker. Please bring a dish to share and join us for an afternoon of good food and fellowship. The First Friday Lunch will also host a craft show/sale during the November 2 meeting. Children VIRTUS Training

St. Peter’s will present a sexual abuse prevention program, VIRTUS: Teaching Touching Safety, to our Pre-K – 8th grade students on October 7th during PREP class, and to 9th-12th grade students on October 3rd during Youth Group. This safe environment program is provided to us by the Archdiocese of Atlanta and is a part of our ongoing effort to help create and maintain safe environments for all children and youth and to protect all of them from sexual abuse. As a parent, you have the right to choose whether your student participates in the program. You either granted or denied permission on the registration form when registering your child for PREP. We encourage you to read the “overview”, “parent guide”, and “lesson plan” assigned to your child’s age group to understand exactly what your child will be taught. All these materials are available at http://archatl.com/ministries-services/safe-environment/grades-k-12/safe-environment-lesson-plans/ and entering the password: V1rtus. The Safe Environment training for Adults of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, VIRTUS: Protecting God’s Children, includes training in how to recognize, prevent and report abuse. All employees, and volunteers who regularly work with minors, receive this initial training, as well as ongoing training and background screening. The Code of Conduct, Sexual Abuse Policy, Ministerial Standards for Clergy, Educators and all Working with Children and Vulnerable Individuals, Social Media Policy as well as the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People are all available at the diocesan website, www.archatl.com. The Archdiocese of Atlanta is committed to helping children and young people learn and grow in a healthy and safe environment.
